Andrew Kemp, Director

Andrew is a Chartered Electrical Engineer, with corporate membership of CIBSE and the IET. Andrew joined Mecserve in 2010 as Technical Director after providing support and advice on a part time sub-consultant basis for the previous three years.
With over twenty years design experience built on a foundation electrical apprenticeship, Andrew has worked on a wide range of projects including commercial, residential, education, retail, light industrial and healthcare schemes up to £150M in value.
In addition to the traditional consultancy role, Andrew has gained experience in the field of commissioning management, permit scheme implementation and control schemes and small scale project management.
As well as undertaking project-based design work and construction phase management duties, Andrew is the head of the electrical team responsible for all electrical technical and technological matters.
Colin Preston, Managing Director

Colin has been employed at Mecserve for over ten years. As with many of our engineers, Colin started his employment with a five year apprenticeship (with Matthew Hall), which included college attendance as well as working within each of the company's departments. The final two years of the apprenticeship saw Colin working as an engineer on a variety of projects both at the office and on-site with each respective project.
With a BEng in Energy Engineering (and a placement at Mecserve Associates), Colin was to return to Mecserve for full-time employment just a couple of years later. During the last ten years, Colin has been promoted a handful of times and is now the Managing Director at Mecserve.
Derek Smith, Director

Derek has been employed at Mecserve for twenty nine years and has steadily been promoted from Senior Engineer to Director.
As with many of our engineers, Derek started his employment with a major company of mechanical and electrical contractors gaining valuable experience of the installation of mechanical and electrical systems. Working for Mecserve he has been involved in many projects, ranging from commercial office accommodation and residential schemes, to print works and schools projects.
Duncan Campbell, Director

Duncan is a degree qualified Chartered Engineer with over ten years experience in the construction industry. He is registered on several sustainability appraisal schemes including Code for Sustainable Homes and BREEAM Accredited Professional as well as being a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant. Duncan has worked at Mecserve for three years and among his achievements he was appointed as a specialist advisor on planning related issues on the Renewable Energy and Planning Expert Support Network which was piloted in early 2009.
Lester Bentley, Director

Lester has over forty years design experience in the construction industry and is a leading expert in carrying out mechanical and electrical surveys which includes expert witnessing. Lester has been employed at Mecserve for sixteen years and has steadily been promoted from Senior Engineer to Director.
As with many of our engineers, Lester started his employment with a major company of mechanical and electrical contractors gaining valuable experience of the installation of mechanical and electrical systems. Working for Mecserve he has been involved in many projects, ranging from commercial office accommodation and residential schemes, to print works and schools projects.

Andrew McNaughton, Mechanical Engineer

Andrew joined Mecserve in 2004 where he worked as part of the CAD department. During subsequent years he moved to the Mechanical Engineering department where he has worked on various projects from the scheme design stage through to completion. Whilst at Mecserve Andrew has studied part-time and has achieved a first class honours degree in Building Services Engineering. Currently he is in the final year studying his MSC in Sustainable Energy Systems and has spent time working within the company's Sustainability Department.
James Bevis, Electrical Engineer

James has been employed at Mecserve for three years as an electrical engineer and is currently taking the lead role on the electrical services design and monitoring of site installation for The Lancaster Gate redevelopment.
James has recently been awarded Licentiate membership of CIBSE.
John Davis, Senior CAD Operative

John has been employed at Mecserve for over eight years, helping to build the CAD department with CAD manager, Pat Doyle. During his career to date, he has been responsible for co-ordinating the services design from base concept, up to fully detailed co-ordinated drawings, including the development of schematics, equipment schedules and site surveys if required (including liaising with clients, architects and contractors).
John is a highly experienced Senior CAD Operative and has taken the lead CAD role in the co-ordination and development of major projects.
Laurence White, Senior Mechanical Engineer

Laurence has been employed at Mecserve for two years and, as with Lester Bentley, spent his initial years in the industry employed by a major company of mechanical and electrical contractors before progressing to consultancy design and the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer.
Nazli Dabidian, Senior Sustainability Consultant

Nazli's career to date has been focused on the integration of environmental and energy strategies and sustainability principles into the Built Environment and Architecture. She holds bachelor and Master Degrees in Architecture during which she focused on Energy and Sustainability issues and integrating them with design process.
She also holds Master of Science in Renewable Energy and Architecture with distinction, where the main focus of the course was renewable energy technologies and their integration within the built environment.
Her areas of speciality include extensive experience with sustainable energy solutions in different sectors and working on different energy solutions for commercial and residential buildings. She has also advised on BREEAM and LEED certification on many projects.
Nazli is a CIBSE Low Carbon Design & Operation Consultant and Low Carbon Energy Assessor (Levels 3,4,5 and DEC). She is a LEED Accredited Professional and BREEAM assessor.
Pat Doyle, CAD Manager

Patrick has been employed at Mecserve for twelve years and spent his initial years in the industry employed by major contractor companies involved in Mechanical & Electrical systems. Patrick is a highly experience CAD coordinator and heads up the CAD team at Mecserve. Coordination and detailing on drawings plays a large part in the company success in delivering a successful product.
Phil Alderman, Associate Mechanical Engineer

Phil has over twenty-five years experience in the construction industry, both within the consulting and contracting sides of the industry. He has been at Mecserve for a period of eleven years in total.
Further to gaining his qualifications, Phil, like many others at Mecserve, initially gained valuable experience of mechanical services systems within a major company of mechanical and electrical contractors, before entering the consulting side of the industry. This provided a wealth of experience with fit-out projects, especially with the commercial office, residential and industrial sectors.
Phil has a supremely successful track record in taking projects from conception to completion (or tenants' fit-out stages if required).
Samuel Shale, Facilities Management Engineer

Sam's career began in mechanical building services design and specification and he has taken that valuable experience into Mecserve's Facilities Management department spending time as a building manager overseeing operational engineering and now as a client-side Facilities Management Engineer.
Sam's role in the department includes maintenance management and liaising with key Mecserve clients and their property portfolios, auditing of contractor service provision, site log books and statutory compliance. During licence to alter for tenant fit-out works, Sam makes regular site visits to ensure compliance with the licence. Sam will also chair maintenance meetings and undertake a mixture of condition or energy efficiency surveys. As the clients representative he will constantly liaise with the maintenance contractor and the client aiming for best value for the property portfolio and operational efficiency.
Sebastian Wegroski, CAD Operative

Sebastian first joined the Mecserve CAD team in 2005. Since joining Mecserve Sebastian has acquired several qualifications both in CAD and engineering. These include a BTEC HNC in Building Services Engineering (Mechanical) and several CAD qualifications such as Autodesk MEP, Revit MEP. Sebastian has successfully employed these skills in several of our large projects with a particularly forward-looking and insightful skill which helps to produce quality deliverables.
Shaun Watson, Junior Mechanical Engineer

Shaun has completed the first three years of his Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Southampton and is going into his fourth and final Masters year. Shaun works for Mecserve every Summer where he takes on basic tasks issued to him by the Mechanical department. On several occasions Shaun has worked with the Sustainability team, gaining new skills and an appreciation of how sustainability permeates all aspects of engineering in the building industry.
During his time at Mecserve, Shaun has also learnt to perform many of the calculations needed to successfully design building services systems, as well as grasping new software required to produce a final and deliverable product.
Stephen Bennett, Associate Mechanical Engineer

Stephen is a degree qualified Engineer with over twenty years experience in the construction industry and has been employed at Mecserve for twelve years.
As with many of our engineers, Stephen started his employment with a five year apprenticeship with a major company of mechanical and electrical contractors gaining valuable experience of the installation of mechanical and electrical systems. Working for Mecserve Stephen has been involved in many projects, ranging from commercial office accommodation and residential schemes, to industrial and schools projects.
Steven Norwood, Associate Mechanical Engineer

Steven is a degree qualified Chartered Engineer with over twenty years experience in the construction industry has been employed at Mecserve for four years.
As with many of our engineers, Steven started his employment with a five year apprenticeship with a major company of mechanical and electrical contractors gaining valuable experience of the installation of mechanical and electrical systems. After ten years in contracting, Steven started consultancy work in 1999 for a major London consultant. Working for Mecserve he has been involved in many projects, ranging from commercial office accommodation and residential schemes, to industrial and school projects.
Stuart Axson, Associate Electrical Engineer

Stuart has been employed at Mecserve for 12 years as a senior electrical engineer and has been steadily promoted to Associate Electrical Engineer.
William Sansum, Associate Electrical Engineer

William has been employed at Mecserve for three years and spent his initial years in the industry employed by a major company of mechanical and electrical contractors before progressing to consultancy design.
