Mecserve was appointed to provide full design of the building services for Cathedral Group's striking headquarters building across 5,300 ft².
Located in St Thomas' Church, Southwark, the refurbishment built upon the unique qualities of the Grade II listed building which was converted into an open-plan office space complete with meeting rooms and a staff kitchen in the crypt. With the disused church on the English Heritage 'Buildings at Risk' register, special consideration was given to the existing public museum in the attic space which also included an original operating theatre from St Thomas' Hospital.
Cathedral Group PLC wanted the building to reflect their professional, yet progressive ideals. Not only did Mecserve assist with all building services but were also involved from asset inspection to completion and finally, occupation of the building.
