Ageas House, Hampshire

Mecserve had the pleasure of working on the refurbishment of Ageas Insurance headquarters in Hampshire providing more than 86,000 ft² of accommodation.

Ageas Insurance (UK) employs over 6,000 people in the UK and required MEP services to be installed at its recently acquired Hampshire-based HQ. After the purchase of the former B&Q headquarters, Portswood House,  for approximately £6m) the building underwent a comprehensive refurbishment to create a more modern, quality headquarters office building.

Mecserve provided the outline scope and design parameters of the building services for the main contractor to design, co-ordinate and install. Category ‘A’ lighting (to BCO 2009) was developed to specific Category ‘B’ client design. VRF (variable refrigerant flow) comfort cooling systems, comprising heat pumps, were used in the offices to blocks A & B as well as the major data centre, kitchen, restaurant and training facilities incorporated into block C.

In addition to the refurbishment works, the project included the erection of a new block (block C) accommodating a datacentre and multi-configurable training centre with building services controlled by a KNX system.

  • The training rooms’ Building Services are controlled via touch screen units.
