The brief from the client was the refurbishment of 7,500 ft² of existing office accommodation into four high quality apartments (two for trading and two for rental).
Mecserve was appointed to provide a design tender package, complete with co-ordination of the main services distribution throughout the building, including low pressure hot water heating, sanitation services, controls, lighting, small power and security/access systems.
Each apartment was totally self-contained, with respect to the building services, complete with boosted water services.
The project was completed successfully for the client and handed over in the first quarter of 2008.
An important aspect of the design of this project was that it could be given a ‘Very Good’ accreditation in an EcoHomes assessment. This was achieved even though the building was an existing structure.
