Quantum is a premier office development built adjacent to Maidenhead's out-of-town Vanwall Business Park.
With a combined nett area of 122,000 ft² of office space, the work included external and separate multi-storey car parks located at the rear of the two buildings (Q1 & Q2). Both buildings had independent services and were fully air conditioned, including central plant and BEMS.
Mecserve was appointed to provide a detailed review of the ADL2 requirements during the pre-planning stage and prior to planning submission to ensure compliance before the design stage commenced. Mecserve also provided an enhanced performance specification for the building services to enable a competitive design and build tender to be negotiated.
The design of the services included a traditional four-pipe fan-coil system complete with enhanced lighting control installation. Main plant was located at ground and roof levels with some plant being remote from the build to which it serves.
Lighting consisted of fully recessed modular luminaires with low brightness louvres to enable compliance with CIBSE LG7 adaptation.
