Mecserve was appointed to produce a detailed and co-ordinated outline design and detailed performance specification for the building services to enable competitive tenders to be sought.

The MG Rover car dealership was located in Guildford, with approximately 17,200 ft² of floor area. The dealership comprised both a new and used car sales showroom along with workshop servicing facilities and parts storage and packaging for export.

The work included lighting and general small power to the showrooms, parts & spares department, workshops, offices and ancillary areas along with specialised power to workshop areas.

Gas fired heating was provided for the parts & spares department and workshop areas. Heating and air conditioning were provided to the sales and associated office areas. Compressed air, waste oil and a vehicle emissions extraction system was also provided.

Mecserve was retained by the client to vet and approve the contractors design and to maintain a QA role in respect of the building services installation.
