Mecserve was appointed to assist with the fit-out of the Sloane Telephone Exchange - a Grade II listed building situated in the heart of London.
The project objective was to convert the telephone exchange into 27,470 ft² of offices. The landlord completed a limited shell-and-core base-build development, which then allowed Mecserve to become involved with the tenant at a suitably early stage.
Mecserve was able to advise on strip-out and prevent some works being completed, to enable the tenant to fit-out the space to their operational needs. The internal fit-out was completed to a high specification and included two 'IT comms' rooms.
The challenge was to provide the servicing without external plant space and with strict external noise criteria as it is a residential area.
